Gender Discrimination

Federal and some state/local laws prohibit employment discrimination on the basis of gender. An employer may not treat applicants and employees unequally based on their gender. To have a gender discrimination case, you must show that your employer treated you differently because of your gender, and that this treatment has negatively affected the terms and conditions of your employment in some way.

Examples include discriminatory recruiting methods, not receiving a job offer or being passed over for a promotion, unequal pay, unequal benefits, unequal training opportunities, and termination.
